Owl and Other Purses

Here are a few felted items I am including in the Holiday Market this November. I had some owl purses last year and sold almost all of them, so I wanted to make a few more for this year.

This is actually a glasses case I had had already felted but just needed to "finish" it. I will see if it peaks any interest at the Market before I make any more of these.

These three bags were already felted last year, but have been sitting around waiting to be "finished" too. The Love bag is done with needle felting- a fantastic technique where you hand felt yarn by using a special felting needle. I love this technique since it allows you to have more control over what you are felting. It can be time consuming, so I haven't done alot of it.

The owl hand puppet is an item I had made last year, that I used needle felting on.

More Felted Coasters and Wallets

These are some of the coasters I made to sell at the Holiday Market this November. Now that I actually know the right way (or the easier way) to applique' it's alot easier to make them, and they look a bit "cleaner" than the first ones I made last year. (To learn about felting, check out my March 5th post -Brads: not just for scrapbooking.)

Last year when I was at the Holiday Market, my wallets all sold out. I made a few of the bigger ones like these, and they were really popular. So I thought I should definitely have some more for sale. I love the snail one.

More of the smaller wallets.

Applique' Apron Sets

The Holiday Season is upon us, which got me inspired to create some holiday themed apron sets. I was already planning on making more aprons to sell at the Holiday Market I am participating in, but I felt I needed more fall and Christmas ones as well. I found these great themed fabrics and immediately got excited! I love the color combinations in all the fabrics.

This one is not a holiday themed apron but I absolutely love the houses! It was the first thing I thought about putting on an apron when I first started to applique. Now I finally got around to it.

This is the finished oven mitt and hot pad set to go with the apron I made earlier. (check out the apron under my August 27th post -More Applique' Apron Sets.)

Felted Coasters and Wallets

I have been invited back to the Holiday Market in Down Town Boise this year, and I am very excited! So I have been hard at work making ornaments, wallets, coasters, and apron sets. I sold out of all my wallets and coasters last year so I knew I wanted to make some again for this year. My applique' skills have definitely improved so making them this time around was a lot easier. Here are two of the coaster designs I have finished. The thing I love about these coasters is that they are double sided, so they can be used on both sides, or displayed on one side and used on the other.

In making my wallets they are so fast and easy, I can whip a bunch out in just a few days. (I love to crochet while I'm watching my favorite TV programs.) I also did a small applique' on each one that is hand stitched with embroidery thread, and a little button completes the look. I'm currently working on a few bigger wallets that have pockets and can hold your checkbook.

The Holiday Market begins Saturday November 6th, and goes through December 18th. I hope to see everyone there! (click on the picture to see a larger image)

Art Doll Ornaments

These are miniature versions of my dolls. I made them into little ornaments, and I just love them! They stand about 5" tall, and are made the same way as I make my dolls. Their arms and legs are also movable. I made 7 of them, and they are all slightly different.
